**About the role**:

- The Project Officer works within the Program Management Office to support the division's project management function to embed project management structures, practices and processes across the division, and provide oversight of project and portfolio health status and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- The Project Officer will be responsible, under guidance from the Manager, Program Management Office, for maintaining the suite of project management artefacts, the register of contacts for progress updates, monitoring and reporting processes, and supporting the evaluation of the Program Management Office functions.
- The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and a range of program and policy areas across the division.

**How you'll make a difference**:

- Provide co-ordination and administrative support for corporate deliverables within the PMO team across project management, monitoring and reporting.
- Maintain and monitor project reporting mechanisms, process flow documentation and reporting dashboards. This includes update and maintenance of the relevant PMO intranet sites.
- Contribute to maintenance of core project governance, frameworks, document templates and guidelines as means of ensuring MHWD has an effective and fit for purpose project delivery environment.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, briefs, correspondence, and reports to senior management, the Minister and government on the performance of MHWD reform program.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to build effective working relationships that support project managers and teams to deliver, monitor and report on their projects effectively and follow up actions as required.

**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:

- A relevant tertiary or industry qualification in project management or public sector administration is desirable for this role.
- A sound understanding of project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting and the ability to use appropriate project management techniques, disciplines and methodologies is highly desirable.
