Position summary

Downer Rail & Transit Systems has over 100 years’ rail experience providing end-to-end, innovative transport solutions. Downer Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) has the largest rollingstock capability in Australia.

As the leading provider of rollingstock asset management services in Australia, we have expertise in delivering whole-of-life asset management support to our customers. Our capability allows us to offer turnkey solutions for complex projects and spans every project phase, from design and manufacture to through-life-support, condition monitoring and data analytics, to fleet maintenance, operations and comprehensive overhaul of assets.

Current flagship projects plus many varied and exciting projects on the horizon:
Melbourne Metro - 70 High Capacity Metro Trains and a state of the art train maintenance facility in Pakenham.

Sydney’s Waratah fleet - 119 trains including through-life-support at our purpose-built Auburn Maintenance Centre.

Queensland’s New Generation Rollingstock - all upgrades to Queensland’s fleet taking place at our historic Maryborough Service Delivery Centre.

About the role

The Commercial Projects Analyst will investigate emerging market opportunities within the Rollingstock industry, across both Passenger and Freight sectors. This role will provide support to the Senior Bid Manager by analysing bid requirements, communicating with delivery, production and engineering teams within Downer to gather project requirements and then pull the data and information together to respond to bids and tenders.

This is a full-time permanent position based in our North Ryde, Sydney Office with the flexibility of WFH. Some travel will also be involved to meet face to face with Downer delivery teams and external Customers.

About You

A minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in engineering services, heavy equipment, construction and/or infrastructure businesses would be ideal.

Ability to liaise with internal major projects and bid teams to deliver workable contracts for growth projects.

Strong project management and stakeholder management experience.

Financial background would be beneficial but not essential.
