**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, the Commercial Analyst is part of the Commercial and Energy Markets team. This team is responsible managing commercial activities and market operations for Squadron.

The Commercial Analyst will provide commercial analysis and support for the commercial operations, contracts, and energy markets team across the Squadron Assets.

Duties include:

- Responsible for commercial analysis and optimization of Squadron’s future portfolio (Wind, Solar, Power, Storage, Natural Gas/LNG, hydrogen)
- Collate, maintain, and analyse market intelligence across the Squadron portfolio including monthly reporting.
- Researching, developing, and maintaining the financial/operational/commercial modelling as required by the relevant business area
- Undertake and maintain detailed energy market pricing and analysis across all products (electricity, storage, gas, carbon, hydrogen)
- Provision of pricing for customers for new projects and existing customers
- Working with commercial contracts team on contract exceptions and risk assessments.
- Preparation of high-quality presentations for commercial decisions
- Perform and monitor daily and monthly market obligations in relation to gas, electricity, and related markets
- Take a leadership role in monthly reporting processes eg Establish, maintain and assess processes, tools and reporting for effective and consistent tracking of performance against targets and providing insights to improve performance
- Role may include Ad hoc support for origination and business development activities from opportunity identification (gas, power, and renewables), market research to customer and supplier negotiations.
- Maintain flexibility and willingness to rearrange priorities.

**Qualifications**:
You have a degree qualification in a commerce, finance or, engineering with at least 4 years’ experience as an Analyst.

You have previous experience working in energy markets, especially in the electricity/ renewables sector. Project management and project development commercial operations experience is highly desirable.

You’re organised, with strong analytical and quantitative ability

You have high attention to detail with a team orientated focus

You can review reports and data with stakeholders

You can grasp complex ideas quickly and communicate clearly and effectively

You have strong written & verbal communication skills

You’re a self-starter and self-motivated and able to work independent of supervision
