**About the Role**:
As Executive Manager, you will:

- Lead the delivery of the Sustainable Destination Management Plan and Ballarat’s Local Area Action Plan
- Build strong partnerships with government, industry, and community to grow the visitor economy
- Represent the region at key forums and advocate for policies and investment that support tourism growth
- Drive marketing and brand positioning to attract more visitors, increase their spend, and boost return visitation
- Oversee high-quality visitor servicing and industry capability-building initiatives
- Identify and promote sustainable investment opportunities in tourism infrastructure and products

**About You**:
You are a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience in the visitor economy, tourism, regional development, or related sectors. You excel at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and delivering results.

You will bring:

- Strong understanding of the visitor economy, tourism, or economic development
- Experience engaging with government, industry bodies, and community stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead teams, deliver strategic plans, and manage complex projects
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills
- A passion for regional Victoria and its communities

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Qualifications relevant to the position with senior management experience, preferably in Tourism industry.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Government and Tourism peak bodies to develop product, experiences and campaigns to enhance local visitor economy outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in managing the development of strategic plans and projects
- Superior communication and entrepreneurial skills to influence, negotiate and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders including an ability to use discretion and judgement in a complex business and political environment.
- High degree of proficiency in report writing, analysis, research skills and strategy development.
- Proven ability to create and inspire a team of staff, build team capability and responsiveness to maximise opportunities to enhance the Visitor Economy.
- Proven performance in developing cooperative work relationships between the Visitor Economy, industry, local government and community.
