Position Purpose
The State Manager VIC/NT is responsible for leading the state sales team to deliver growth and profitability through strategic planning, operational excellence, and people leadership. This role involves driving a winning strategy aligned with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering a positive and high-performing team culture. The State Manager oversees all aspects of the states business, including operational management, revenue generation, compliance, and brand representation. Acting as a brand ambassador, this role is pivotal in strengthening Interface’s market presence, advancing sustainability initiatives, and ensuring the efficient and effective use of company resources to achieve business objectives.
Areas of Responsibility
- Recruit, Develop, and Retain Talent: Build a high-performing team by recruiting, coaching, and retaining key members.
- Drive Revenue Growth: Achieve AOP sales targets through strategic planning, business development, and effective territory management.
- Lead by Company Values: Demonstrate and uphold company values, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
- Strategy Execution: Understand and communicate the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), translating it into actionable regional plans and goals.
- Customer Focus: Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing requests, complaints, and opportunities promptly while balancing company interests.
- Performance and Accountability: Set measurable goals, review team progress regularly, and provide feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
- Safety Leadership: Promote safety as a priority, ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Market Insights and Adaptation: Analyse local market drivers, competitors, and customer behaviours to inform strategic decisions.
- Sustainability Advocacy: Lead initiatives that align with the company’s sustainability and climate goals.
- Effective Resource Use: Manage resources efficiently, including Salesforce CRM, and ensure smooth operations across state offices.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Proven successful track record of sales leadership
- Industry related knowledge, experience of construction industry, architecture / design and specification process.
- Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline would be advantageous
- Experience in winning large projects within a complex sales environment
- Understanding of CRM
- Sound Marketing knowledge
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
