**Description**:
About the role
Pharmacare Operations is seeking a motivated and results-driven Research and Development Lead to join our manufacturing facility based in Prestons, working Monday-Friday 8.30am - 5pm to provide high quality technical input via product, ingredient and process knowledge to the PharmaCare Operations & PharmaCare Laboratories teams, which supports the implementation of innovative new products and processes and make continual improvements to existing products,
Reporting to the Head of Reseach & Development, your key areas of accountability include, but not limited to:

- To manage and carry out new product development and current product improvement projects as required, encompassing: Preparation of tentative formulations, development of formulations for new formats, preparation of sample prototypes, undertake physical analysis as required, sourcing of appropriate materials and contributing to the determination of COGs.
- Review of production documentation for accuracy.
- To provide technical input as required.
- To contribute to product and process improvement initiatives.
- To research scientific principles related to our field of work with adoption of relevant cost-effective product enhancement technologies.
- To develop innovative product concepts/processes.
- To manage a functional research and development laboratory for factory support work e.g. maintaining equipment, laboratory inventory and administration.
- To establish, nurture & leverage key stake holder relationships.
- Tracking and metrics of NPD trials and projects.
- Any other appropriate tasks, as required.

**Skills and Experiences**:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree qualified in a Science or related discipline.

EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 years in product development of complimentary medicines. Confectionary and nutraceuticals products and process development experience would be a distinct advantage. Experience in foods fortification and TGA complimentary medicines (Aust. Listings) would also be highly advantageous.
- Technical ability and understanding in non-sterile solid dosage formats.
- Product development processes from ideation
- implementation.
- Managing research and development aspects of projects.
- Working knowledge and ability to interpret the Australian code of GMP.
- A strong awareness of and commitment to safety management.
- Time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced working level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MRP and/or ERP systems.
- High level of attention to detail, initiative and strong work ethics.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organisation from shop floor to senior management.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
