**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Grants Advisory Services, the Assistant Director, Reporting and Data Integrity has the following two priorities:

- Prepare procurement and grants related reports for monthly executive reporting, senate estimates briefs, Whole of Government Reporting, and the Annual Report inputs; and
- Continuous improvement of reporting and data integrity across procurement and grants.

The key reporting and briefs to be produced currently includes data and analysis relating to the department’s use of external workforce, consultancies and use of the ‘Big 7’ professional services firms. It draws data from multiple sources including from SAP and Austender, Power BI dashboards and inputs from other business areas into multiple datasets. The role includes ensuring the datasets are maintained and the dashboards refreshed, plus the continuous improvement of processes and integrity of the data and the inclusion of new data and analysis as required.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Director broadly include ensuring the department’s procurement and grants related reporting is produced in a manner that:

- is timely, efficient and effective
- is reliable, credible and consistent
- allows important metrics to be presented and monitored via a dashboard
- meets relevant reporting obligations
- can be used and maintained by administrators without the need for experts such as data analysts, database administrators, Power BI specialists, etc
- is supported by well documented and easy to follow standard operating procedures.

The Assistant Director may also be responsible for leading a small team including mentoring and training team members, effectively and fairly delegating work and managing HR elements such as performance planning and reviews, leave, etc.

**Skills and Capabilities**
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and capabilities:

- Critical analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse data and identify and articulate the “so what” within that data.
- Relevant reporting and data integrity experience including implementing new reporting and or improving existing reporting.
- High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with maintaining data in and extracting data from SAP (role data and expenditure data, etc) or similar ERP system.
- Experience in the use of Power BI or similar data visualisation tools (i.e. Tableau or Qlik).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations, provide excellent customer service, and take a client-focussed approach to duties.
- Experience preparing Senate Estimates Briefs, Executive briefs, Executive reporting and responses to Questions on Notice.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, including the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
- Sound stakeholder engagement, influencing, liaison and relationships management skills.
- Experience with and knowledge of Commonwealth procurement and grants reporting. obligations (plus the Strategic Commissioning Framework) or a demonstrated track record of being able to quickly learn policy and legislation.
- Ability to lead a small team, including effective delegation of work, coaching and mentoring less experienced staff and ensuring expectations are met on time and to the required standard.

**The Opportunity**
