**The Role**
The Early Childhood and Youth group is focussed on making high quality, affordable and accessible early childhood education and care to Australian children and families. The group is responsible for the effective implementation of the Government’s Child Care package, including the administration of the Child Care Subsidy and Child Care Safety Net.

The Early Childhood and Youth Group strives to ensure all Australian children can access early childhood education and care, which equips them to succeed in years to come and helps families with children who want to work, want to work more, train, volunteer or help with other responsibilities.

The Financial Integrity Branch consists of seven teams which are responsible for the integrity of Child Care Subsidy payments, including policy and advice to Government on integrity, data analysis, approval of child care providers, education, and engagement with the child care sector, ensuring compliance with requirements, provider audits and fraud investigation.

The Intelligence Analytics Section is responsible for delivering Child Care Subsidy integrity data analysis, evaluations, and intelligence functions. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders and undertakes analysis of Child Care Subsidy and related data to detect high-risk behaviour patterns, identify targets for compliance and fraud activity, assess and prioritise referrals to compliance and fraud investigations teams, and deliver operational data and intelligence support.

Reporting to the Director, the Assistant Director will provide specialised technical data analytic skills to support the Financial Integrity Branch in identifying, detection and prioritising integrity risks.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Executive Level 1 Assistant Director, Integrity Analytics may include:

- Support the development of proactive identification of known and unknown integrity risks using a wide range of analytical and predictive modelling techniques using the departmental SAS platform.
- Provide technical and advance data analytics to support the development of the rules-based Integrity Risk Indicators which form part of our Integrity Detection Program.
- Provide data analysis, modelling and visualisations to support the development of Integrity Response Plans to inform integrity priorities.
- Support the development of a scoring model for prioritising and triaging non-compliance into higher value/more urgent and lower value/less urgent categories.
- Support the development of data visualisations using SAS Viya to map and track provider behavioural changes over time and following integrity interventions/disruption activities.
- Develop watchlist monitoring systems to support early intervention targeting.
- Provide administrative support regarding data systems, including the development and delivery of training and support materials for end users.
- Build and sustain effective working relations with internal and external stakeholders and represent the department in external forums.
