**The opportunity we have available**

We are seeking a talented, professional and experienced EL1 to fill the role of Assistant Director - Integrity, Fraud and Corruption Control Policy.

The Assurance, Governance, Integrity and Risk Branch is responsible for audit/assurance; risk management, business continuity management and insurance; integrity and corporate reporting; governance; and performance reporting, as well as fraud and corruption prevention and detection.

The Branch plays an important role in supporting our divisions to deliver departmental outcomes, build organisational capability and enhance a pro-integrity and positive risk culture.

You will join the Integrity, Fraud and Corruption Control team (IFCCT) to support their work in building a pro-integrity and fraud and corruption awareness culture across the department. The work in the IFCCT is fast-paced and requires balancing competing priorities, while being adaptable to supporting the overall team where priorities and individual workloads change. The IFCCT investigates integrity related issues, reported instances of alleged fraud and or corruption and develops and implements frameworks to improve the department’s integrity and internal fraud and corruption control arrangements.

As Assistant Director, Integrity, Fraud and Corruption Control Policy, you will support the Director and other Assistant Director’s and will take a leading role in the ongoing management of the uplift in capability and compliance with the new Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework.

To be successful in this position, you should be able to demonstrate strong representation and organisational skills, well-developed communication skills, the ability to work under limited supervision, and the ability to work to set priorities and meet deadlines. You should also have strong project management skills; stakeholder engagement skills and a sound working knowledge of legal frameworks.

**What will you do?**

As the Assistant Director, Integrity, Fraud and Corruption Control Policy, you will work in a fast paced, dynamic team, and lead the capability uplift work across the department to improve integrity, fraud and corruption control arrangements within the department. This includes:

- Leading the capability uplift to ensure it meets legislative, policy and legal frameworks - in particular to ensure alignment with the Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework July 2024.
- Working with the Director and Chief Investigator to identify vulnerabilities in the department’s fraud and corruption control risk assessments and recommend risk mitigations to address immediate or ongoing fraud risks.
- Using a range of internal and external resources, and techniques to gather information and/or evidence to support decisions and recommendations, including preparation of complex high quality written material on sensitive matters.
- Working closely with business areas on recommendations for improving and strengthening fraud and corruption controls as well as undertaking education and awareness activities for Fraud and Corruption Control, support with FAW, Integrity Week, Finance Week etc.
- Promoting ongoing updates to the department’s fraud and corruption control governance arrangements and empowering and supporting departmental employees through education and awareness activities related to fraud and corruption control.
- Ability to step in and undertake investigations where, when required - with required qualifications etc
- Support the development of the department’s new Integrity Framework and Action Plan (to replace the existing strategy which expires in December 2025) that will flow from the Commonwealth Integrity Strategy - this includes working with the Secretary, Integrity and Risk Champion and other Deputies to identify priority focus areas;
- Support the other Assistant Director’s managing the integrity work and provide support to the Director, Assistant Secretary, Chief Financial Officer, Integrity and Risk Champion and Chief Operating Officer to support the finalisation of the Commonwealth Integrity Strategy by the Attorney-General’s departm
