**The People, Property and Security Division** works in partnership to deliver strategic and operational workforce services that enable and enhance organisational capability. The division provides stewardship, support and services across integrity; conduct; property; fraud and corruption; security; performance management; rehabilitation management; recruitment; learning and development; inclusion and diversity; workforce planning and analytics; workplace relations; people support; culture and health, safety and wellbeing.
**The Integrity Branch** sets the integrity policy framework and works with stakeholders to build a pro-integrity culture through positive workplace values and behaviours. The branch is responsible for the management of physical and personnel security risk and works to prevent, detect and respond to internal fraud, corruption, suspected misconduct and insider threat.
**The Job**
**The Assistant Director Personnel Security** will lead a dynamic team to deliver contemporary, pragmatic personnel security advice based on best practice and risk.
Key duties of the position include:
- providing expert advice on matters, including the department’s obligations under the Protective Security Policy Framework,
- leading the personnel security team, enabling the effective management of the department’s personnel security program, & the delivery of a personnel security risk management program involving engagement with employees to manage risk,
- building trusted relationships with key internal & external stakeholders such as AGSVA,
- engaging across business areas including the delivery of presentations to raise awareness of personnel security,
- managing the daily functions of the department’s personnel security capability, working as part of the section’s leadership team to deliver a high level of integrity assurance.
**The Assistant Director Physical Security**will lead a dynamic team to deliver security advice and services based on best practice and risk.
Key duties of the position include:
- providing expert advice on matters, including the department’s obligations under the Protective Security Policy Framework, specifically Governance, Information, Risk and Physical Security Domains,
- providing expert advice on matters, including the department’s obligations under the ASIO Technical Notes, specifically Governance, Information, Risk and Physical Security Domains,
- leading the physical security team, enabling the effective management of the department’s physical security program of work,
- building trusted relationships with key internal & external stakeholders and the department’s appointed Property Service Provider and major contract representatives,
- engaging across business areas including the delivery of presentations to raise awareness of physical security,
- managing the daily functions of the department’s physical security capability, working as part of the section’s leadership team to deliver a high level of integrity assurance,
- significant experience in managing security systems such as Gallagher, Milestone CCTV and various Electronic Key Management Systems.
**Key duties for both positions will also include but not limited to the following**:
- Autonomously Manage Team Outcomes: Oversee team performance and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure Leadership Visibility: Keep the Director and Branch Head informed about team workload, trends, issues, and outcomes.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Enhance the departments adherence to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Deliver High-Value Customer Interactions: Provide accurate, well-considered policy-based security advice to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Manage Security Risks: Identify, assess, communicate, influence, and manage risks with relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to Annual Reporting: Support PSPF reporting activities and ensure compliance.
- Support Section and Branch Initiatives: Provide assistance as needed to achieve broader organisational goals.
**Please note**that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
