**About the role**
We’re seeking a strategic leader to join us as Head of Strategy for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the General Manager, Strategy & Corporate Development, you’ll play a key role within our Corporate Strategy and Development team—alongside M&A, investor relations, and corporate ventures. This high-impact role is central to GrainCorp’s long-term growth ambitions, with responsibility for developing clear and actionable strategies that drive success across the business. The role also includes leadership of two direct reports, offering a great opportunity to mentor and grow talent within the team.

You’ll be based at the award-winning International Towers in Barangaroo—home to one of Australia’s most sustainable workplaces. Our hybrid model offers the flexibility of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

There is potential for the right person to transition into other senior strategy roles across our broader business at the conclusion of this contract.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Leading the design and delivery of strategic plans across multiple business units and the broader enterprise
- Translating strategy into a program of work that supports growth and transformation
- Preparing and presenting high-quality strategic content to the ELT and Board
- Supporting the implementation and adoption of key initiatives across the organisation
- Building strong internal and external relationships to bring fresh insights and thinking
- Fostering a high-performing, engaged strategy team with a focus on development and coaching

**What you’ll bring to the role**:
You’ll be a strategic thinker and confident communicator, with strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering strategy in complex environments. Ideally, you’ll also bring:

- Experience in agribusiness, commodities, food manufacturing or related sectors
- Tertiary qualifications in business, economics, or a commercial discipline
- A strong grasp of strategic frameworks and experience embedding them in a corporate setting
- Comfort presenting to executives and Boards
- Ability to lead research, synthesise insights, and drive outcomes independently
- Confidence facilitating cross-functional workshops and high-level conversations
- Exceptional written communication and business case writing skills
- A collaborative, relationship-driven mindset
