**THE ROLE**

As a member of Origin’s Contract team, reporting to the Head of Contract Trading, this role will support the execution and delivery of the LNG portfolio.

The **6 month limited term contract **role of the LNG Trader will be centred around the following activities:

- Shipping, contract, and operations management for all LNG cargos deliveries
- Management and execution of spot, short-term deals, and strip cargo as per approved portfolio strategy
- With a strong commercial and relationship management background (preferably in commodity markets), this role will manage a portfolio of customers and traders within the LNG market on behalf of Origin
- Pricing, price database maintenance and market analysis support specifically international indices for gas & oil within the JKM, TTF (European Gas), NBP and Henry Hub.
- Through the interactions with colleagues and senior management, the person in the role will also help inspire a proactive commercial culture and management of a customer’s portfolio.
- Operational and logístical management of LNG cargo ships
- Origination and execution of spot and short-term trades aligned to strategy, as well as negotiation and management of all relevant commercial agreements (e.g. MSPA’s & CN’s)

This is an office-based position located in Sydney. The role also requires a person who has the ability to be flexible and dynamic in their working habits as demands from the organisation continuously change as new opportunities arise.

**IS THIS YOU?**

You’ll need to have a sound commercial focus, be responsive to the needs of internal and external stakeholders and have a strong quantitative/analytical background. You will tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field, such as economics, commerce, engineering, mathematics or law.

You can show, through the work you’ve done:

- 3 years’ experience In LNG contract and customer relationship management
- Multiple years’ experience in contract negotiation in large energy organisation or utility/commodity trading houses
- Good knowledge of commodity financial products and understanding of LNG risk management/exposure management capability across energy commodity markets (LNG, Gas, Coal, Oil).
- Numerically proficient with strong quantitative skills with experience in applying/managing numerical model to price LNG supply, Oil and derivatives, and general knowledge of commodity markets.

Given the nature of this role it is expected that the individual will have extensive market networks developed from operating in a similar capacity, have track-record in negotiating and closing high value commodity agreements and be able to represent Origin at executive levels in the external market.
