**THE ROLE**

Origin's Trading Operations Team is responsible for our day-to-day participation in the physical energy markets, which involves short-term optimisation of Origin's long-term portfolio.

This includes operational gas scheduling under contracts and trading activities in various gas markets and bidding the output of the company's power stations into the 24-hour electricity spot market to optimise the electricity portfolio.

Once training is complete, you will work in either the gas or electricity trading team on a 24/7 shift roster. Our roster is well balanced, avoiding long periods of shift work. Traders are also involved in exciting projects through standards work hour project days.

We provide clear guidance on career progression within the Trading Team.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Evaluating short-term gas and electricity market conditions and operational considerations
- Working with the team to develop and drive strategies for the market.
- Interacting with plant operators and market operators to execute strategies.
- Participating in project work to implement changes to the operating environment and supporting and guiding more junior members of the team.

**IS THIS YOU?**

To be considered for this role you can show:

- Have 3+ years of experience within the Energy Markets.
- Keenly involved in Energy Trading with AEMO.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with energy market compliance requirements.
- Operation experience of enacting energy contracts.
- Have created and executed strategy in the Energy Markets.
- Demonstrated experience with market insights, research and compliance within the energy markets.
- You are excited by the prospect of learning a large and dynamic portfolio of trading in the physical energy markets.
- You are able to demonstrate a passion and commitment for furthering a career in the energy industry.
- Have operated on a roster that covers nights, weekends and public holidays.
