**The Opportunity**

Goal Group is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager for a complex Defence acquisition project in Canberra.
- Lead, plan, develop, and deliver Configuration Management (CM) activities through the project lifecycle across a range of disciplines including ICT; software; network; radio systems and electro-mechanical engineering.
- Adopt appropriate CM strategies and develop and manage the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) in accordance with the CASG processes and requirements.
- Lead the baselining and change control of functional and interface requirements for the project and ensure this is managed.
- Coach and mentor relevant project teams in their CM responsibilities.
- Establish, review, and monitor the CM process with relevant stakeholders; including the end-to-end change process.
- Establish and support conduct of the Configuration Control Board/s (CCB) and other working groups that manage the relevant baselines
- Work closely with an Industry Systems Integrator to establish the CM processes, policies, and procedures; then manage and support them to meet the requirements of the contract.
- Develop CM artefacts in support of each of the project tranches
- Support complex procurement activities by developing solicitation documentation and supporting information, evaluating industry responses to approaches to market related, and ensuring engineering deliverables and project outcomes meet contracted, legislative, policy, quality and CM system requirements.

**About you**
- Current / recent experience in CM in a highly technical CASG or similar acquisition environment. With more than 8 years’ experience in the field of systems engineering and at least 5 years in CM in a technical environment (e.g., systems of systems, complex networking, software, radios and operating systems).
- Experience in establishing, building, running, and maintaining CM and change management activities to the required standard; and developing the necessary documentation to support Government approvals and materiel delivery.
- Ability to create a controllable CM environment for a complex integration project with limited guidance.
- Proven commercial and business acumen.
- Advanced technical writing skills and a comprehensive understanding of Defence processes and structure and the One Defence Capability System (formerly the Capability Life Cycle).
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics/computers/communications/networking or similar), postgraduate qualifications in configuration management, systems engineering and/or project management, as well as experience in pre-Acquisition project activities including design, development, and tender evaluations are highly desirable.
- Due to the urgency of this requirement an NV1 clearance is essential.
