Melbourne, Australia ANZ Banking Group Full time

**Req ID**: 38983

**Department**: Tech ANZx

**Division**: Technology

**Location**: Melbourne
About the role

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of something different - working in an agile way to innovate and deliver quality outcomes at pace? Here in ANZx, we’re looking for people who are passionate about transformational change, delivering impactful change for our customers, and help us to redefine banking for the future.

Join us as we reimagine services using the latest platforms and technology, to better support our customers’ financial wellbeing.

What’s your mission?

As a Technology Product Owner within the Customer & Origination team of ANZx, your mission is to significantly improve the customer experience through defining and integrating new features and services, improving our customer proposition across the Retail and Commercial Banking sectors.

You’ll leverage our new lending platform to create a broker distribution product, using the latest workflow technology to deliver digital first lending outcomes, faster and with higher quality. You will have an enterprise-wide impact through integrating these capabilities into the current ANZ landscape, ensuring both new and current propositions work in parallel.

**Success is**:
Simplified, transparent, flexible, features and services, that can be added and changed quickly to support our partners’ needs, e.g., their ability to know where in the lending flow their customer deals are without needing to interact with multiple teams and;
100% compliance with regulatory obligations relating to third party distribution, and the ability to trap non-compliance before it occurs.

What will your day look like

Enabling and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team ('Squad') to pursue its mission, by guiding them on 'what' work should be completed by the squad and ‘why’.

The Product Owner constantly collaborates with the team and prioritises the squad’s backlog with the customer at the heart of their decision making. Taking responsibility for the full lifecycle of the product from inception through development, launch and support.

The Product Owner also ensures that the work is strategically aligned to the broader technical and ANZx mission, engaging with peer Product Owners to align and manage interdependencies.

Although no direct people leadership responsibility, this is a high impact opportunity of strategic importance, providing a vision, purpose, and support to galvanise and nurture the squad to successfully deliver customer and business value at pace.

What will be in your toolkit?

Experience delivering technology change in a large, complex environment, where integration and quality is key - Technical Engineering experience in a banking context will be highly regarded

Strength in collaboration to ensure shared outcomes across ANZ, with the ability to galvanise a diverse group of people around a common mission

A creative, customer-focused mindset with a passion for radically simplifying complex processes and issues

Willingness to question the status quo, and energised by building new customer solutions and making improvements to existing value propositions

Ability to challenge yourself and the business on the value that will be delivered to customers

Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making

Desirable (though not essential), a strong understanding of the current Retail and Commercial Banking distribution for lending and the underlying Systems technology will be a big advantage, e.g., Golang, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Temporal.io, Lixie gateway

So, why join us?

At ANZ, everything we do boils down to ‘why’ - our purpose - to shape a world where people and communities thrive. We're just as focused on seeing our people thrive as well as our customers. We'll give you every opportunity to develop your career.

We are responding faster to changing customer requirements, focusing on the things that matter the most, energising our people, eliminating waste and reducing bureaucracy.

A happy workplace is a thriving one. So in order to attract and keep the best talent, and say thanks for the hard work, we make sure all our employees are rewarded.
