Product Owner / Business Analyst – Transformation Projects

A leading Australian university is seeking a highly skilled Product Owner / Business Analyst with a strong consulting background to join their Transformation team. This role is critical in delivering a major Student Management System project and offers the chance to make a real impact on the student experience at one of Australia's top universities.

WHAT'S ON OFFER
  • $1000.00 a Day Inclusive of super.
  • Initial 6-Month engagement, with possibility of extension.
  • Melbourne Southeast
  • 4 days on site
  • Exposure to working alongside a well-established Australian Uni.
THE ROLE

You will be a key player in a large-scale transformation program, working across multiple streams and stakeholders. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can wear multiple hats, seamlessly bridging the gap between business needs, technical teams, and project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Product Owner for transformation initiatives, managing requirements, backlogs, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Conduct business analysis, process mapping, and solution design for complex systems.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and system capabilities.
  • Lead workshops, elicit requirements, and translate them into actionable user stories.
  • Support the delivery of a major Student Management System implementation.
  • Engage with stakeholders across business and academic areas to drive adoption and change.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience in consulting with a focus on transformation projects, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong Product Owner and Business Analyst capabilities, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience with large-scale ERP or student management systems highly desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments, balancing competing priorities, and delivering results.
