**The role**:
The Investment Manager role is responsible for building ICT portfolio investment governance and appraisal knowledge and capability across the health system as well as developing strong linkages with central agencies to drive and support the adoption of optimal investment governance processes for Queensland Health.
This role works closely with the other Managers within the Strategic Portfolio Office, as well as the strategy and planning teams within eHealth and the Department to provide a full complement of ICT portfolio investment management services to our customers.
- Setting strategic direction for ICT investment management and actively managing the team, clearly articulating services, functions and key activities.
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and other work teams to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and drive the delivery, governance and appraisal of quality ICT investments
- Leading engagement, and building strong collaborative relationships, with key central government agencies to drive clear understanding and support for ICT investment and funding proposals and priorities. Key stakeholders include (but are not limited to) Premier and Cabinet, Queensland Treasury, and the Queensland Government Chief Customer and Digital Office.
- Promoting linkages and driving consistency and alignment between investment management and governance processes, practices and solutions adopted within the Department, health system and across Queensland Government.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your ability to identify opportunities to achieve improvements in investment governance, evaluation and appraisal. Other skills include:

- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a diplomatic approach and the ability to liaise and relate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Highly developed research, analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills including the proven capacity to initiate appropriate strategic and operational responses.
- Highly developed written communication skills with the proven ability to develop quality investment and funding proposals and submissions for consideration.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of Queensland Government investment governance approval and funding processes, including Cabinet and ICT investment governance
- ICT Investment appraisal and evaluation experience
- Portfolio, Program or Project Management experience
- Experience working within either the Government or Health Sectors
- Qualifications in Investment Management, Public Policy and/or Portfolio Management would be highly regarded.
