About the business unitSituated within the Study and Migration Queensland (QLD) Division, Migration QLD participates in the Commonwealth Government's State Nominated visa program; and is responsible for enhancing QLD's economy by sponsoring business migrants to operate in QLD to invest and provide additional employment opportunities for local Queenslanders. Migration QLD also nominates skilled migrants to fill in-demand occupations across QLD industries to strengthen the local workforce.Your contribution (key responsibilities and accountabilities)To be successful in this role you will:
- Lead and manage the Migration QLD team, by contributing to TIQ's strategic direction and developing policy responses and research initiatives to deliver Migration QLD priorities in line with TIQ's business priorities.
- Lead the team to implement and continuously improve the Migration QLD program with the intention of increasing QLD's market share of the number of migrants nominated by the State of QLD.
- Manage and analyse data and information in order to provide high-level advice, policy and briefs regarding the federal and state government's policy and targets for business and skilled migrates and translate the findings into policies and programs.
- Develop and maintain effective communication strategies, protocols, stakeholder negotiation and liaison activities across cultures and other private and public sector organisations, through multiple the Migration QLD Website and social media platforms.
- Coach, mentor and support your team to create a high performing, flexible and supportive working environment, that keeps abreast and monitors current industry/sector trends and government policies to support migrant business investment into target sectors in QLD.
- Provide written and verbal advice and communications to high-level stakeholders including clients and client representative groups, Ministers, the TIQ Board and TIQ executive management.
- Develop and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders across international, local, state and federal agencies and industry to continue to build commitment to long term growth of QLD's migration program.
- Represent TIQ on inter-departmental, national, international and industry committees and present / participate in key government and business forums.
