Pinnacle Investment Management Group Limited (ASX:PNI) is a leading Australian-based multi-affiliate investment management firm. Our mission is to establish, grow and support a diverse stable of world-class investment management firms.

One of these investment management firms is Riparian Capital Partners. Riparian is a specialist Water, Agriculture and Food investment firm that was established in early 2019 with the specific purpose of identifying, acquiring and managing investments across the agriculture sector. Their investment strategies span the agriculture value chain and include direct water entitlement investments, irrigated farmland and agricultural infrastructure.

The Riparian team are looking for an Agri Investment Associate, the primary focus of the role being to support the development, analysis and management of agri investment strategies. The role will have an initial focus on investment modelling, investment analysis, financial reporting and ongoing investor reporting. The role would suit someone who thrives in a collaborative and supportive environment who is looking for a growth opportunity in the Australian agricultural investment management space.

Key Responsibilities
:

  • Working closely with the Managing Partner to develop evidence-based investment options;
  • Researching and developing investment papers on various investment opportunities, and researching agriculture and food sub-sectors for consideration by the Investment Committee;
  • Interacting with various Agri-sector market participants including, farmers, agri infrastructure operators, agribusiness, service providers to the sector, valuers, accountants and auditors;
  • Managing banking relationships including the monitoring of asset performance to banking covenants and finance restructures;
  • Monitoring and on-going assessment of agri investment assets and risk exposures;
  • End of month / quarter / year financial reporting and reconciliation of asset accounts;
  • Investor reporting including production of quarterly investor updates and other investor presentation material, and presentation of the same: and
  • Supporting the Investment Operations Manager with compliance, quality assurance and administration tasks.

Desired Skills and Experience
:

  • 5+ years' relevant experience which could include banking, accountancy, restructuring, consulting or investments;
  • Demonstrated passion for investing and investment management;
  • Familiarity with Australian agriculture preferred but not essential;
  • Detailed focused, ability to produce accurate and timely work;
  • Highly adept in utilising Microsoft suite of programs especially MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to develop, analyse and understand complex investment models;
  • Experience in interrogation and reconciliation of accounts, collaboration with accounting teams;
  • Creative, independent and rational thinking;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small, cohesive team; and
  • High energy and resilience required to work in a high performing investment team.

Qualifications
:

  • Tertiary qualifications (finance, economics or similar) essential
  • Additional professional development preferred (CFA, CAIA, CA, CPA).
