The opportunity and your impact

As our highly valued Manager, Finance, you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.

Reporting to the Director, Finance, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of financial professionals to provide budget management, internal control monitoring, financial transaction support, reporting and compliance across TIQ's international organisation.

Based in Brisbane, here's what your role will involve:

  • Lead and manage the operations of the finance team to ensure effective and efficient support is provided across TIQ to enable the delivery of its strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders with respect to strategic and operational knowledge of Queensland Government financial management policies, frameworks, and guidelines.
  • Ensure the organisation's financial systems and services (TechnologyOne Financials, AAP Converga, ExpenseMe Pro and PowerBI) operate in accordance with the relevant legislation and TIQ's policies and procedures.
  • Manage both domestic and international financial activities to support strong internal controls in TIQ, including AP, AR, banking arrangements, corporate card controls, vendor management and foreign currency payments.
  • Coordinate the annual budget process and quarterly budget reviews to align financial resources with agency priorities.
  • Coordinate the contribution of financial information for State Government Budget papers (e.g. Service Delivery Statement), Estimates Briefs and Questions on Notice (QoNs) as required.

  1. Ability to think strategically, consider long term goals and operationalise financial services aligned with the Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Government financial management frameworks, guidelines, standards and practices.
  2. Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating annual budget processes, monitoring budgets to ensure alignment with TIQ's operational and strategic priorities.
  3. Demonstrated experience managing a team, building a positive culture and capabilities to inspire individuals to achieve results and meet deadlines in a client focused, high pressured environment with competing priorities.
  4. Ability to develop, manage and maintain collaborative stakeholder relationships in a diverse environment to improve service delivery and manage expectations.
  5. Lead the financial reporting of TIQ projects and monitor the finance-related KPIs to drive accountability and support decision-making.
