**The Role**
The Service Manager role is a key role within the Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) providing the management and controls to ensure ICT Services provided by CIOG meet customer and end-user needs, whilst providing a good ICT experience.
You will work within a small team accountable
under broad direction to continually improve ICT Service Management to ensure it is efficient and effective contributing to Defence's strategic direction.
In this role you will have to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and customers to achieve the directorate’s outcomes. You may also be required to lead a small team providing direction and management. The Service Manager will be expected to pursue ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

**About our Team**
The Directorate of Service Enablement (DSE); direct, manage and control Service Management practices to assure Service Integration and Management(SIAM) delivered services support the strategic direction of Defence through CIOG providing ICT as a capability through providing end-to-end ICT services in an integrated seamless way that meets Defence Military Operations and Corporate needs, whilst providing a good user experience.
- Management processes (ITIL certification and experience is highly desirable) and an understanding of Service Integration and Management (SIAM);
- A high-level of communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships, liaise at all levels with a diverse range of suppliers and stakeholders, and develop written communications, reports and other documentation;
- The ability to analyse information providing timely advice, guidance and recommendations to decision makers;
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities, resources and meet deadlines;
- The ability to use their initiative, innovation and agility to ensure support to Defence strategic direction; and
- The ability to deal with organisational change in a proactive, positive and dynamic way..
