Central Coast Council is the third largest water utility (or water and sewage service) in NSW servicing 139,000 homes and businesses in a growing region. The role of the Mechanical Electrical Project Lead is responsible for managing a professional team of Mechanical and Electrical staff to effectively and efficiently deliver service and infrastructure projects that align to the strategic, operational and organisational objectives within Water and Sewer. This will be achieved through leading project teams that deliver service and infrastructure projects, in order to achieve the desired social, economic and environmental outcomes for Central Coast Council. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. **Key activities of this role include**: - manage a team of professional and contract staff, managing work priorities to achieve agreed goals and outcomes - lead and assist the project management of mechanical and electrical infrastructure within Water and Sewer including Water and Sewer Treatment Plants, Pumping Stations, Reservoirs, Dams and High Voltage Substations - assist in the development of the Asset Delivery Capital Works planning and delivery program, providing advice and input into specific projects and finalising designs - cost effective management of capital works including: investigations, design, delivery and handover; asset renewals and refurbishment - ensure project, change and risk management methodologies are incorporated into the design, delivery and operation of electrical/electronic assets - lead and assist the team to prepare and provide documentation for capital works renewal and refurbishment projects; including operation and maintenance plans, risk assessment and management plans, business plans and Service Level Agreements (SLA) - develop and provide reports on capital works, and management of demand to increase efficiency and effectiveness of assets and service delivery - develop and maintain electrical/electronic assets monitoring register including details of asset condition, serviceability, maintenance costs, renewals, refurbishment and report on strategies to meet current and long term water and waste water requirements **About you**: - You may be qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Project Management or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role - You will be experienced in either Mechanical or Electrical project management - You will be experienced in motivating, leading and supporting multi-disciplinary teams to achieve outcomes - You will bring experience in projects of significant complexity with a political environment with differing stakeholders - You have the ability to collaborate, engage stakeholders and delivery outcomes efficiently - You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others - Having a work/life balance is important to you **What we offer**: - Weekly pay cycle - Generous leave provisions: 20 days paid Annual Leave, 15 days Sick Leave/Carers Leave, Health and Wellbeing Leave, Long Service Leave after 5 years, Additional purchased leave, Parental Leave - 18 weeks full pay/36 weeks ½ pay, Paternity Leave - 2 weeks - Novated leasing - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to employees and their families - Fitness Passport - access to gyms across the Central Coast and Newcastle - Health and wellbeing programs - skin cancer screening, Breastscreen, Flu vaccination, blood donations - Recognition of service - Council Child Care salary sacrifice - Professional Development opportunities - Individual career development and learning opportunities - Reward & Recognition programs. **Please refer to the **position description **for detailed information on the position and required skills and experience.** A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy.
