- The Materials Engineering Group is responsible for the materials strategy and development with ResMed’s product development groups globally. We pride ourselves on constantly adapting, and relentlessly improving in order to maximize the value that we add to the broader organization.
Lets talk about the role:
- We are currently looking for a 6-8 month maternity replacement to join our industrious team. As the Associate Manager of the Materials Technology & Compliance team within the broader Materials Engineering Group, you will be working alongside your direct teammates as well as those from ResMed design, systems, manufacturing and supply teams. You will use your superior people and technical skills to robustly and creatively influence solutions for material related issues across the whole lifecycle of all ResMed products; finding resourceful solutions all the way from research through to development, and on into a high volume manufacturing environment. Your team will also support Materials compliance activities, working alongside our compliance experts.
This is a role for someone who comes up to speed quickly and thrives in working at pace with their team to solve real-time problems, able to excel at the very hands-on individual work of materials testing and data gathering as well as build trust and collaborate closely with others. We look to you and your team to turn this quality data into actionable insight through robust and insightful data analysis. You will influence critical materials decisions by being able to target your communication of findings to all levels of the company - from rigorous, detailed technical reports, to higher level multidisciplinary technical meetings and senior stakeholder presentations.

- You will coordinate work across the team according to company priorities, supporting your team to expertly manage their stakeholders and communicate timeline and technical risks.-
- You have a strong analytical proficiency and will use your ability to digest and summarise complex or diverse information to drive Materials Technology & Compliance strategy towards ResMed’s future.-
- You will bring a passion for understanding the constraints imposed on medical device materials intended for high volume manufacture and you will work to align, and influence the choice and validation of materials, processes and approach across ResMed.Your team will support- Materials Characterization, Identification and selection: You will expertly select and use some or all of the following instrumentation FTIR, DSC, TGA, SEM/EDS, XRD, XRF, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry (LC/GC/ICP)) to gather data to inform actionable insights for the business. You will be required to travel (within work hours) to various facilities across Sydney to utilise analytical equipment that is not located on the ResMed campus.-
- Participate in Root Cause and Failure Analysis: You’ll use known tools such as Kepner Tregoe, etc, to bring your rigorous critical thought process and wide and insightful materials knowledge to the table as the Materials Engineering Subject Matter expert.-
