ECA provides short-term accommodation and supported independent living supports young people living with complex and multiple disabilities.

We are seeking an individual to join our management team who has experience as a residential care officer providing house coordination for our group home. The role requires demonstrated organisational and leadership skills in the coordination of services to assist people with a disability live in a group home environment.

The position is focused upon ensuring that the individual needs of clients are met, whilst complying with the NDIS framework and maintaining an efficient and safe working environment for team members.

ECA is small, not-for-profit disability provider who management committee are the parents of the young people we provide services to. We are seeking an individual who understands this ethos and believes in the importance of long-term relationships for positive outcomes.

We are seeking a residential care officer with a passion for providing individualised, quality supports and an understanding of the importance of a safe, secure home for persons with disability in a group home setting.

We are seeking a professional with expertise in autism, who also has experience with young people who live with multiple, complex disabilities and require high levels of supports within their group home.

**Duties**
- Assess participants' needs and create individualised care and support programs.
- Ensure the group home setting meets the required needs of each participant residing in the home.
- Coordinate and liaise housing and support requirements of participants to relevant parties.
- Develop and implement training and educational activities to enhance clients' skills and independence.
- Monitor participant progress, prepare detailed reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Refer participants to appropriate external agencies for additional assistance and specialised care.
- Implement person-centered care plans and provide emotional and psychological support to residents.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment, including assisting with housekeeping tasks.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and support.
- Assess community needs and resources to enhance access to health, welfare, housing, and training services.
- Collaborate with community groups, welfare organisations, and government agencies to address participant needs and raise awareness of available resources.
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in group housing operated by ECA.
- Assist young individuals in overcoming social, emotional, and financial difficulties to promote personal development.
- Assist to prepare funding proposals, resource requests, and formal reports to secure support from relevant agencies.
- Supervise and guide participants in compliance with safety and care standards, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.

**Skills and Attributes: -**
- Advance diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work or psychology.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Knowledge of supporting persons with autism living in a group home setting.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to group home provision under the NDIS.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Experience driving a Toyota Commuter (long body van)
- Experience in Positive Behaviour Supports and Maybo.
