This Not-for-Profit religious organisation are currently based in Sydney CBD and are seeking a Communications & News Media Manager to promote the Catholic faith.

**Your new role**

As a Communications & News Media Manager you will be assisting in the creation and implementation of communication plans. This will include coordinating, creating and implementing robust communications plans, maximising publicity, digital and social media across multiple channels to promote SCE initiatives and events.

The Communications and News Media Manager will also monitor several social media platforms in order to bring the mission into digital networks. A primary part of this role is supporting the communications strategy set by the Director to achieve overall organisation objectives, build strong relationships and to work where possible towards a proactive unit.

**Responsibilities**:

- General support for the Director in the aims of the Communications and News Media team
- Manage and support current and new communication and media platforms of the Archdiocese when required by the Director of Communications and News Media
- Assist in the creation and delivery of strategic communications plans for SCE teams
- Write communications for internal, social and digital channels, including leadership communications, news stories, social media posts, and briefing notes
- Support the day-to day-operations of the Communications and News Media team
- Assist in the management of the various forms of internal communications
- Attend regular planning and management meetings with stakeholders, rapidly responding to issues as they arise, particularly through social media
- Assist in the creation and delivery of strategic communications plans for SCE teams

**What you'll need to succeed**
- An understanding of the Catholic Church, its mission and the sensitivities and nuances of dealing with various stakeholders
- Strong journalism background highly desired
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field preferred
- Ability to effectively leverage established relationships within the media and communications sector
- Strong record demonstrating ability to successfully and strategically develop and lead people, projects and change through communications
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently as required
- Objectivity and balance, with strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while carrying out structured plans and meeting business as usual requirements
