The Learning and Development team is responsible for the design and implementation and evaluation of programs including leadership development programs, performance initiatives, Corporate Induction and Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander workforce development programs for executives, managers, and staff across the department. The team also supports the Learning Management System 'I Learn' and service desk that services 9 other Queensland Government agencies. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with an experienced team on learning opportunities that are targeted, relevant, and well-received, and to contribute your own ideas to those projects you are responsible for.
**The Principal Advisor's key responsibilities are**:
- Foster and support key stakeholder relationships that ensure the security and viability of the department's learning management system. These relationships include Information Security, the software vendor and significant client users' groups.
- Plan for future learning and development system needs of the department and provide high level advice on the usability of such systems.
- Develop project management and implementation plans to facilitate the continued introduction of the LMS as a key system to support the management of learning and development across the department.
- Lead and encourage a high standard of user support and communication to ensure that the LMS is utilised to its fullest capacity.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Learning Management staff of varied skill sets.
- Lead, develop and support the team to carry out administrative, operational and reporting tasks. - Identify opportunities to partner with external government agencies to leverage their learning and development needs off the department's LMS and develop business cases to support new program of works in this space.
- Ensure solution architectures are aligned with the strategic direction of the Department, business areas and whole-of-Government meeting organisational capacity and budget requirements.
- Provide advice on complex business issues relating to change management as a result of the implementation of, or changes to the LMS.
