Grovely State School is seeking a passionate and innovative leader to join the team as a Deputy Principal.
As Deputy Principal you will focus on improving educational outcomes for students, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, and fostering positive relationships between students, staff, the community, and key stakeholders.
This role requires strong inclusive leadership and experience.
This is a temporary full-time position commencing 22 January 2026 until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role
As the Deputy Principal, you will be instrumental in enhancing student achievement by implementing strategies that improve educational outcomes, while simultaneously developing the quality of teaching and learning across the school. You will foster a supportive and collaborative environment, nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, and the wider community, ensuring strong connections with parents and stakeholders. Through your leadership, you will help create a thriving, inclusive school culture where every student and staff member can succeed and feel valued.
Your Responsibilities
As the Deputy Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
