**About the team**:
Our Safety team is committed to driving a culture of Safer Choices Together across the business, This achieved through raising awareness and support, and guiding each other on best practices, we’re building a happier, safer, and more energised workplace every day.

**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Safety & QA specialist. In this role you will be a trusted expert, supporting the site operations manager to build and implement the site’s WHS safety system and food safety program. You will the lead the management of the sites risk framework, and maintain a suitable training program to ensure all onsite team members are appropriately trained in WHS and food safety behaviours.

You’ll also:

- Draft and implement food safety, WHS policies and procedures
- Influence without direct authority in matters relating to WHS, quality assurance and food safety.
- Support injured workers and help to facilitate their return to normal duties through appropriate return to work planning and injury management support.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and the operations team to consistently improve safety and quality outcomes for the business.
- The ability to foster a positive safety culture throughout the team and support the delivery of the Coles Group “Safer Choices Together” strategy.

**About you and your skills**:

- Strong experience working in a similar workplace health and safety role.
- Proven experience working in food manufacturing environment or in building ISO40001 compliance systems is highly desirable
- Experience in developing or leading a HACCP teams as well as experiencing in HACCP auditing
- Degree/post graduate qualification in food science or workplace health and safety or other related disciplines will be considered.
- Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence teams
- Ability to work in high pressure environments making risk based decisions.
