**About the role**:**

Reporting to the Liability & Compliance Manager you’ll be responsible for effectively managing our Tasmanian claims portfolio where you will:

- Pro-actively manage an ed to end portfolio of workers compensation claims in accordance with Tasmanian state laws and policies to reduce the impact of workplace injury whilst ensuring that Injured Team Members receive their correct entitlements and are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
- Take an active role in driving sustainable return to work through influencing, coordinating and overseeing the injury management process for our Tasmanian claims.
- Facilitate resolution of workers compensation claims with a strong focus on engagement between injured team members and the business to bring about understanding, collaboration and continuous improvement in claims management.
- Manage disputes arising from the management of claim by both instructing our panel solicitors as well as direct representation of Coles at TASCAT.

In addition you will manage our 130 week End of Entitlement program for our Victorian weekly compensation claims in accordance with the Victorian legislation and WorkSafe guidelines. This will include:

- Developing statements of injuries
- Arranging Independent Medical Examinations and Independent Impairment Assessments
- Arranging Vocational AssessmentsEngaging directly with Injured Team Members to hep them understand the process, what the expect and the outcome of the process
- Drafting and issuing Notices detailing the outcome of assessments

**About you and your skills**

To be successful in this position you will need a strong understanding of customer service with experience engaging and supporting customers in difficult situations. Ideally you will have 2 years+ claims management experience in workers compensation.

Tasmanian and/or Victorian claims management experience is not essential as you will be trained on the relevant legislation & policies, though as strong understanding of claims management, a high degree of professionalism and genuine empathy for our injured Team Members are all essential.

You will be required to hold or be open to completing a Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management.

You'll also need:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and skill with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Claims or Electronic Information Management systems experience.
