The Business Partnering and Workplace Relations Division comprises HR Business Partners and Workplace Relations specialists who provide end to end advice and support on all employee and industrial relations matters. The Division is primarily focused on assisting Victoria Police in managing the workforce with over 22,000 employees, in line with our enterprise agreements and employment legislation. This includes providing high level advice and support on employees' working conditions and entitlements, managing complaints associated with workplace conflict, bullying and VPS misconduct, undertaking organisation reviews and realignments and redeploying sworn and VPS employees to suitable employment.
As a key senior team member reporting to the Director, Business Partnering & Workplace Relations, you will have hands-on accountability for managing and leading the Assessments and Investigations team, who case manage complex workplace relations matters including bullying and misconduct matters, organisational change and industrial disputes, including through to advocacy at various tribunals.

**Your duties will include**:
Leading a team of up to seven Workplace Relations Leads to:
- ensuring the provision of high-level technical workplace relations advice and guidance to a diverse range of clients;
- ensuring the provision of proactive end to end case management of complex workplace relations matters including bullying, harassment, conflict resolution and misconduct matters;
- establishing and maintaining a reputation for being trusted advisors and workplace relations specialists through the maintenance of strong stakeholder relationships;
- creating a climate in which team members are motivated, through the provision of coaching and mentoring;
- proactively identifying business needs, implementing plans and contributing to major projects;
- partnering with other business units and stakeholders to support the organisation; and
- driving the resolution of complex workplace relations matters.
**About You**:
- demonstrated experience as a people manager and leading a team of HR professionals;
- demonstrated ability to engage and inspire work groups to help form agile and high performing teams;
- advanced communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups across all levels;
- strong working knowledge of current employment legislation and regulatory frameworks including EBA and policy interpretation;
- a proven record in achieving resolution of complex workplace issues in a unionised environment;
- a flair for people management and results driven leadership;
- strong project and case management expertise in dealing with a variety of workplace matters;
- resilience, pragmatism, innovation and a passion for continued learning; and
- the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise to meet the varying demands of a complex area.
**Further Information**:
- One (1) x maximum fixed term contract, full-time position available from 5 May 2025 until 5 June 2026.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
