**The Role**
The position is located at DSTG-Stirling on Garden Island in Western Australia where you will be working within our Human Systems and Information Integration team with both human scientists and information fusion scientists.
You will work in the context of undersea defence, that is, how submarines, sensors and other equipment operate and the role that people play in a complex, extreme environment defending Australia’s national interests.
Based on that knowledge you will help us to plan and conduct research in a collaborative setting to address questions about the design of future technologies and future human work systems (the two are interrelated).
You will work with universities, industry and international partners to provide advice to Navy clients and Defence projects. There may be opportunities for travel, conferences and broad networking with scientists across Australia.
**About our Team**
The Human Systems and Information Integration team leads research in human sciences and data fusion/tracking sciences to support decision superiority and warfighter performance/wellbeing in Australia’s submarine and undersea surveillance capabilities.
- Be a collaborator who can contribute to a high performing team in applied research and practice.
- Provide specialised technical advice on human cognition, team work, performance or human-machine teaming.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills including liaison with clients and key stakeholders, as well as report writing and information sharing.
- Can bring enthusiasm and add a spark of scientific creativity to our team.
