**What you will do**: - Provide leadership in identifying and facilitating the development of innovative and proactive strategies to build the capacity of the department in effectively delivering its youth engagement services, strategies and programs. Provide strategic, high-level advice to the Executive Director, Deputy Director
- General and stakeholders as required, on issues associated with the youth engagement. Maintain suitable governance arrangements, including leading management committees and reference groups. Ensure the effective delivery of the Office for Youth program through developing and implementing contemporary youth engagement strategies and frameworks that ensure young Queenslander's are provided access to and involvement in government decision and policy making. Develop and maintain strong business relationships and communication with a range of government and non-government stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of agreed youth engagement objectives and departmental strategic objectives. Represent the department at intergovernmental forums and negotiations including undertaking policy analysis specific to youth budget and policy initiatives at both Commonwealth and State levels to ensure that social and economic opportunities are provided to young Queenslanders. Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective and consistent service delivery and quality outcomes coupled with efficient management of financial and human resources in accordance with government policy and legislative requirements. Promote an effective working culture by capturing and sharing knowledge and supporting common expectations. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
