**The Court Support Officer key responsibilities are**:

- Support the case work processes relevant to court appearances for young people, including providing courtroom support and updates, facilitation of legal phone calls and reviewing court documents with young people to obtain their instructions and consent. Work directly with young people to support their engagement with court processes and their legal representatives and assist them to understand court requirements and outcomes. Support the facilitation of video-links, in liaison with other youth detention staff, including the Court Management Officer and Visits. Undertake a range of record and information management tasks including maintenance of case records in ICMS and iDOCS and other activities relevant to the young person's case management. Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate court processes, including liaison with Youth Justice Service Centre staff about any required release arrangements. Demonstrate cultural capability and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and understand the cultures and issues which impact them in today's society.
