CUSTOMS HOUSE HOTEL is a vibrant and welcoming hotel that prides itself on providing exceptional guest experiences. We are currently looking for a **Casual Receptionist** to join our front desk team. If you enjoy interacting with people, have a friendly and professional demeanor, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Guest Reception**: Warmly greet and check-in/check-out hotel guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- **Guest Services**: Assist guests with special requests, directions, and information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
- **Accounting & Money Handling**: Accurately process payments, handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain proper accounting of all financial transactions. Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
- **Administrative Support**: Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate departments. Maintain accurate guest records and process payments.
- **Room Assignment**: Allocate rooms according to guest preferences, ensuring smooth transitions and prompt service.
- **Maintain Cleanliness**: Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
- **Problem Resolution**: Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
**Qualifications**:
- **Availability**: Must be available **7 days a week** with flexibility to work **morning (from 6:30am start) or afternoon (to 8pm) shifts**. Ideally, you can commit to at least **2 to 4 shifts per week**.
- **Prior Experience**:Prior experience in a hotel or similar customer-facing role is a must**. Experience in a high-paced environment is highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in guest records, reservations, and special requests.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
- Basic computer literacy (experience with hotel reservation software is a plus).
- Friendly and professional demeanor, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
