**About the role**
It’s an exciting time to join the People and Culture (P&C) function at NESA. We are in a period of growth, transforming our operating model and service offerings to enable exceptional business outcomes. In addition to enhancing delivery of core operational services and pursuing new enabling technology solutions, the People and Culture team is responsible for designing and delivering an exciting agenda of strategic people priorities and programs.
The Payroll Lead manages a team to deliver payroll services to ongoing, temporary and casual staff, including the annual high-volume delivery of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) casual payroll for a large seasonal workforce. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant delivery of payroll services to a highly varied workforce, implementing processes and practices to drive compliance, providing a range of reporting to support business insights and meet audit requirements, and leading a team to deliver accurate advice, resolve a range of issues and enhance continuous improvement outcomes for the organisation.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to:
- Manage the delivery of payroll processing and reporting to ensure accurate payments are received on time and in line with Award and legislative requirements
- Oversee data quality and records management activities including data collection, quality checks and employee records management
- Manage the delivery of reports and analysis in response to business needs and audit/ central government requests to ensure accurate information is provided
- Drive continuous improvement activities; identifying opportunities to streamline processes and procedures to embed consistent service delivery and a positive stakeholder experience
- Manage team members and align resources to priorities, ensure role clarity and embed a team culture of customer centricity, accountability, and high quality services
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, policy obligations, industry trends and practices to identify, recommend and deliver high quality and compliant solutions
**About you**
To be successful, you will need:
- Extensive experience in managing a payroll team to deliver integrated payroll services at a whole-of-organisation level, in a complex setting.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing payroll data quality and records management, metrics reporting and analysis of data to support decision making
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills to deliver services and advice across all payroll and entitlements administration matters
