About the Role
The Cross Product Platform Value Stream, part of Innovation, Partnerships, and Design, is dedicated to creating products and services that empower Australians in meeting their financial goals. We collaborate with strategic partners from across the bank, including origination workflows, account platforms, risk systems, reporting systems, finance and treasury systems, as well as leading fintech providers like Zafin, to deliver exceptional value to our customers.
At ANZ, the customer is at the heart of everything we do; Operating in cross-functional agile delivery squads, we build and deliver a suite of highly engaging digital features within ANZ Plus. As the Chapter Lead in this dynamic team, you will lead a group of engineers to drive the development of innovative systems and services within our next-gen banking platform. Your leadership will be key in redefining our customer and bankers experience and fostering a culture of engineering excellence on greenfield projects.
What will your day look like?
Lead and mentor a team of engineers to design, build, and optimize services that provide unique value to our customers, ensuring high-quality end-to-end feature delivery. Implement best practices throughout the development process.
Drive team vision and strategy that align with business goals and values.
Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Lead and collaborate closely on automated testing, deployments, and monitoring to ensure smooth releases and optimal system performance, incorporating cutting-edge solutions from partners like Zafin.
Tackle complex challenges with your team, utilizing asynchronous communication tools like Slack and GitHub while promoting in-person collaboration.
What will you bring?
**Proven Leadership**: Significant experience in software engineering, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams in delivering well-engineered solutions. Foster an effective, collaborative, and continuously improving engineering culture.
**Technical Expertise**: Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Java, C#, Node.js, or Python, with a solid understanding of software architecture principles. Zafin experience would be nice to have but not mandatory.
**Cloud Development**: Some experience with cloud-based development using GCP, AWS, or Azure.
**Analytical Thinking**: Ability to break down complex technical challenges into clear, actionable strategies and plans.
**Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
