Salary:Earning up to $160,000 p/a + super + phone + laptop + profit share potential

About the Role:

As a Senior/Principal Floodplain Engineer, you'll:

  • Lead and manage water resource projects, including flood modelling, stormwater management, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
  • Collaborate with planners, civil designers, environmental engineers, and government stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, growth-oriented team culture.
  • Help drive Cumulus Engineering's mission to build a climate-resilient and sustainable future.
  • Work on a diverse range of meaningful projects. Our current workload includes numerous renewable projects throughout Australia, several sporting precinct upgrades in NSW/QLD, working with Councils and Catchment Management Authorities on flood studies, supporting Melbourne Water with technical reviews and delivering environmental flow hydraulic studies.
  • Work remotely with regular office days for team connection.
  • Profit share potential for the right candidate, with future leadership opportunities as we continue to expand.

What We're Looking For

  • A Chartered Civil or Environmental Engineer (or working towards it) with at least 5 years of experience in water resources, floodplain management or related fields.
  • Must have minimum 3 years' experience in TUFLOW and Hydrologic modelling in Australia.
  • Strong understanding of Australian water guidelines (ARR, NSW FDM, IDM etc.).
  • Ability to lead project delivery teams and oversee quality assurance.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering practical, client-focused solutions.
  • A commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community resilience.
  • Tertiary degree in environmental or civil engineering.
