We’re looking for a Trade Mark Assistant to join our Melbourne Trade Marks team, on a full time basis. The Trade Mark Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of trade mark matters within a leading global trade mark practice. You will work closely with two Trade Mark Attorneys. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives under pressure and can manage multiple deadlines. They will ideally have 2-3 years experience working as an IP Assistant and have experience using IManage, IP systems, and Microsoft packages.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Processing and handling of e-files
- Client and Communication Management: Efficiently managing high volumes of client communications.
- Documentation Drafting: Drafting and preparing trade mark documentation for submission to IP Australia and international jurisdictions.
- Drafting clear and professional correspondence: for clients, associates, IP Australia and IPONZ, both locally and internationally, maintaining strong client relationships.
- Preparing documents, compiling evidence, and assisting in the preparation of briefs for Counsel in Trade Mark Opposition hearings, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
- Monitor and track daily deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed within the required timeframes, while managing competing priorities effectively.
- Managing diaries and calendars to schedule appointments, meetings, and key deadlines, optimizing time management for Attorneys and clients.
- Drafting invoices using Inprotech, ensuring accurate and timely billing as work is completed.
- Internet and Database Research conducting web research, including IP Australia’s website and other international databases, to gather critical information for trade mark cases and client matters.
- Flexibility to provide backup support to other teams, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced environment (as and if needed)

Preferred skills include strong focus on accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and experience working under tight deadlines, managing time efficiently, and prioritising tasks.
