**About the role**

The role will provide support to the Policy and Advocacy Team, with a focus on both research and general support and will collaborate with others in the team to develop VCCI’s policy positions across a range of portfolios.

The role will have direct ownership of a small number of portfolios and will be responsible for proactive development and implementation of policy advocacy campaigns and responding to emerging policy issues that affect Victorian Business. This involves providing timely, accurate and persuasive advice, underpinned by analysis, contextual awareness and stakeholder and member consultation.

**About you**

***To be successful you will be a confident collaborator who possesses:

- Formal qualifications in economics, commerce, public policy or similar with relevant private/public sector experience.

- A strong interest in the Victorian and Australian political environments and an enthusiasm for supporting Victorian businesses.
- Demonstrated capability in policy development and representation.
- An understanding of the issues facing Victorian businesses and experience in undertaking detailed economic and industry policy analysis, development and evaluation.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to build relationships and liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate complex policy matters in a practical manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
