**About the role**:
As Head of Policy and Advocacy you will be responsible for the delivery of our strategic plan and supporting the Fund’s understanding of legislation, regulation and policies that may impact the Fund’s members.

The role will be responsible for supporting the work of the public and corporate affairs team by providing advice to the team, CEO and Group Executives on the policy priorities for Hostplus members in addition to monitoring the relevant parliamentary proceedings, processes and actors (including our Peak Body memberships) to ensure the Fund is aware of emerging policy and political issues. This role also extends to the contribution and preparation of internal and external reports, briefing material, and submissions.

Where required, you will support the Fund's external advocacy, including through contributing to the preparation of submissions, reports, briefing material, speeches/talking points and undertake timely, comprehensive and accurate analysis of legislation, regulation and policy proposals that may affect the Fund's operations in Australia.

Charged with protecting and enhancing the Fund’s reputation, the Head of Policy & Advocacy will lead efforts to defend Hostplus and our members from adverse policy change and secure positive outcomes.

**About you**:

- You will have understanding of Australia’s political system, process and actors.
- Strong understanding of the history, structure and policy debates pertaining to Australia’s superannuation sector.
- Applied experience with superannuation processes, procedures, legal & compliance requirements.
- Sound demonstrated commercial judgement and acumen, including superior relationship & organising skills.
- Ability to work closely & proactively with key stakeholders across a range of business levels
- Ability to uphold integrity with confidential and sensitive market information.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a sense of perspective and discipline.
- Proven and applied knowledge and use of fundamental project management practices, methods and systems to achieve timely and cost-effective outcomes and deliverables.
- Ability to operate collaboratively with a broad cross section of people and entities
