**Technical Specialist**:
NSW - Sydney CBD Workers Compensation Full Time
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
As part of our diverse team and solely based in our **Sydney office**, you will help make a positive impact on someone’s life every day. You will be part of the greater National CTP team which includes teams in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne. This role is the ideal role for someone who is eager to expand their current experience to include project work and being involved in an exciting new business line.
The role acts as a senior member of the team, including coaching and escalations responsibilities.
This will be a **permanent** position based in the **Sydney** office.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To ensure fair and reasonable decisions are being made across the CTP portfolio that accord with the legislation, regulations and guidelines and accord with community expectations and standards.
- Draft and settle complex and technical communications and decisions
- Review and provide responses to internal audits, emerging trends and claims management practices.
- Identify, develop and support and/or implement new initiatives, quality and continuous improvement activities as part of a continuous improvement process in own work and team.
- Participate and provide technical support in case reviews with particular emphasis on key regulator audit and compliance requirements.
- Working closely with Senior members of the team to assess areas of improvement regarding technical aspects of case management such as liability, contributory negligence and sharing.
- Progress matters as a priority and meeting reporting standards whilst recommending action to reduce risks.
- In conjunction with the Team Leader identify, develop and implement effective strategies to support the achievement of key performance and remuneration measures and deliver the desired customer experience.
- Review and sign off on contentious claim decisions such as contributory negligence decisions, liability, and threshold injury decisions in accordance with NSW CTP legislation.

- Effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work
