**About You**:
You are an experienced “hands on” Manager with a background in network engineering. You understand the complexities of switching, routing and firewall technology and can drive innovation and technical leadership. Beyond this however you are solutions focussed and can absorb and communicate the intricacies of networking and technology to both technical and non technical colleagues. Your role will expose you broadly to a range of stakeholders both within and outside the organisation and you will therefore need to have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. You will have previous experience leading teams and can demonstrate how you have built a strong culture in your team. You will need to be proactive and highly organised with ability to drive timelines;
In addition you will have:
- Demonstrated experience with managing and ensuring the timely response and investigations of network events and incidents
- Solid understanding of fundamental network architecture and function, monitoring management systems, security event monitoring systems
- Broad knowledge of technology including networking, infrastructure, operating systems, virtualisation, database and middleware, disaster recovery and data centre (Hybrid)
- Knowledge of business risk management in infrastructure environments
- Experience in network technologies, architectures, and solution design
- Cloud service networking including Azure, AWS & express route
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Technology or related discipline, or equivalent successful experience
- SD-WAN implementation & management
- Certification in Fortinet and/or Cisco networking
- Fortinet & Cisco routing, switching & firewalls (fortigate)
- Exposure to Mitel telephony systems
**Your new role**:
You will lead a small team and work across the effective design, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and life cycle management of all network and voice related services and its associated hardware. Reporting to the Head of It Infrastructure you will ensure the successful implementation of complex projects & initiatives by architecting and designing fit for purpose solutions and provide project management leadership. It is an exciting time to Invocare as we build capability and transform our business using technology as a key enabler. Your first 12-18 months will see you lead greater automation, the use of AI and moving to more cloud-based solutions. Your expert architectural and design input and leadership will be put to good use as you work across a range of teams to assist with the design, build and maintenance of stable and robust network & telephony platforms.
Key responsibility areas include:
- Installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and life cycle management of networking and voice services.
- Designing network & voice technology solutions, vendor and technology selection and technology implementation and operation.
- Participating in organizational project teams enabling effective solution designs during project initiation and discovery.
- Smooth transition of projects from implementation to BAU using effective change management principles.
- Implement automation and artificial intelligence to enhance the performance and supportability of the network and its related infrastructure.
- Work effectively in a wide range of network and voice areas including LAN, WAN, wireless, data centre, end point & perimeter, security, cloud (AWS & Azure)
- Be the critical point of contact for major incidents and significant changes, responsible for providing domain technical expertise for complex problems
- Provide monitoring, review and analysis as required to ensure validity, efficiency and consistency of network and telephony infrastructure solutions.
- Implement robust security practices within the network & telephony environment in collaboration with the IT security team.
- Development of policies procedures and other documentation required to support the network & telephony environment
