**About the role**

The Network Lead is a key member of the Pacific National Network Operations team and is responsible for managing Pacific National’s IT/OT network across 2 data centres and 80+ sites across the nation. With a recent network transformation by the replacement of our MPLS private network with Fortinet SD WAN technology, Pacific National’s network team are forging ahead along the digital railroad.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Lead and leading a small team, a key component of the role is to support, maintain and continually improve all aspects of Pacific National’s network and connected devices. The scope and definition of networks is being rapidly redefined within the business as more devices such as sensors, machines and vehicles are being connected over wired, wireless and LTE / 4G networks. The “Internet of Things” is driving an explosion in the number of connected devices as well as the volume of data. We are in the process of redeploying some of our OT solutions on the new SD-WAN network while using the Fortinet's security capability to separate IT and OT traffic. The Network Lead will be responsible for building the next generation communication infrastructure to handle this. The scale required to connect, manage, secure, and move data from these devices in a useful way is unprecedented and is going to require significant innovation to meet the challenge.

As a skilled communicator, you will be effective at dealing with diverse internal stakeholders across a dispersed business as well as sizeable third party providers.

You will also possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

- Relevant network certifications in fixed, wireless and/or LTE protocols including Cisco CCNP, CCIE or CISSP and Fortinet
- Experience with design, implementation and management of enterprise WAN, LAN and data centre infrastructure including FortiGate NGFWs, FortiSwitch, Cisco ASA, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus
- Experience with management of network security infrastructure and understanding of security principles and best practice
- Extensive routing and switching experience
- Previous experience managing Fortinet products, Cisco hardware, F5 and NetScaler
- Extensive experience working with Next-Generation Firewalls
- Knowledge of LTE platforms and associated integration experience
- Demonstrable experience and a thorough understanding of QoS principles
- Experience with design, implementation and management of corporate and Industrial Wi-Fi system
- Experience working in ITIL Service Delivery Management framework
- Experience supporting geographically remote network and communication devices leveraging satellite technology.
