**About the role**

We are looking for a Network Coordinator (Network Controller) to join our Electricity Control Room reporting to our Team Leader Control & Dispatch Electricity. The exciting opportunity is a permanent, full time position.

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient planning, control and coordination functions on Jemena Electricity Networks under the operational management of the Control Room.

The role requires experience working with SCADA systems (DMS,OMS) used for monitoring and control of electrical distribution networks. This position, within the Control & Dispatch team, is expected to collaborate with team members and stakeholders in order to achieve successful outcomes in a wide variety of circumstances, from the coordination of planned switching to ensure safe access for maintenance crews, to reactive switching and fault finding in emergency situations.

The successful applicant will be required to work a 12 hour Shift Work Roster (Melbourne CBD based Control Room) and Availability Roster that ensures adequate resources for all situations. This entitles you to a competitive Role Specific Allowance in conjunction with other financial incentives (corporate bonus schemes, etc).

**About You**

To set yourself up for success in Jemena, you should have prior experience working within the utilities industry, specifically electricity distribution networks. Your background includes involvement in operational or technical roles, or additionally trade based roles specialising in instrumentation, electrical or mechanical.

You will ideally have knowledge in the operation of an electrical distribution network incorporating operating procedures and practices. You will also have a high level of understanding of electrical Sub Transmission, High and Low Voltage distribution network elements. This includes knowledge of construction, maintenance and testing activities encompassing comprehension of technical drawings, manuals and procedures.
- Diploma of Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) - System Operations (or equivalent) or appropriate experience plus ability to undertake Diploma of ESI - System Operations
- Appreciation in other Energy Network elements, construction, maintenance and testing activities would be preferred but not essential
- Analytical skills related to Network operational matters
- A firm, decisive manner, calm and disciplined during emergency / abnormal events
- An ability to think laterally in relation to operational matters, and to multi task under pressure
- Ability to read, understand and adhere to complex procedures, practices and protocols
- Ability to work independently, undertake shift work and cope with emergency situations
- Ability to adapt to and embrace new technology within both field and Control Room environments
