We are seeking an experienced Policy Officer to work in our Courts and Tribunal team in the Access to Justice section. The Policy Officer will assist with legal policy work including work on legislative reforms to improve access to justice and support efficiencies in the Courts and Tribunal, facilitating appointments to the Courts and Tribunal and supporting future Coronial Reform initiatives. The Policy Officer may also assist in work related to Electoral reform and other priorities as needed.
The Policy Officer will have strong legal policy skills including an ability to undertake research and analyse information and legislation. The Policy Officer will have strong organisational and communication skills and be comfortable working in fast paced environments and delivering work in tight timeframes. Experience in preparing ministerial briefs, submissions and correspondence is desirable. The Policy Officer will also develop and promote positive relationships with stakeholders and represent the Directorate in consultations.

**Eligibility/Other Requirements**: Relevant tertiary qualifications in law or related field or significant study towards gaining qualifications is highly desirable.
**Notes**:A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
