Our Federal Government client is seeking a
**Policy Officer** who can collaborate, communicate and engage proactively with a range of stakeholders to inform policy development

**About the role**:

- Collaborate, communicate and engage proactively with a range of stakeholders to inform policy development
- Develop, implement and manage policy, programs and initiatives
- Develop high quality policy products - including timely, considered advice on a range of issues
- Represent the department/team in meetings with stakeholders
- Negotiate to resolve competing positions or conflict in the context of sensitive/difficult issues
- Manage and mentor team members

**Ideally you will have**:

- Strong problem identification, conceptual, and analytical skills
- A working knowledge of Commonwealth-state-territory relations, including cross jurisdictional policy development
- An understanding of the national biosecurity system
- An ability to represent the department and experience in running a secretariat/ secretariat administration
- Communication and stakeholder engagement experience
