Details: Interested in housing policy? Want to improve affordable housing in the ACT? We are looking for capable and driven individuals to be part of a small team that manages programs and provides policy development and strategic advice on multiple housing policy issues.

To be a strong contender for this role you will be a strong written and oral communicator, bring demonstrated experience working as part of a team, and be a strategic thinker who can take the initiative in analysing and advising on complex issues across the housing spectrum.

You will work in a small dynamic team environment, where multi-tasking is necessary. Under limited direction, you will be required to develop housing policy, manage affordable housing programs, undertake analysis and develop clear advice to senior executives and Government. You will need to exercise resilience, initiative and flexibility, have excellent attention to detail.

Notes: There are two permanent and one temporary full-time positions available. The temporary position is available from 02 February 2026 until 31 July 2026 with the possibility of extension.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

This position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

The Affordable Housing Policy Coordination Team will likely be moving to the Homes and Land Supply Branch within the Policy, Planning and Built Environment Division of the City and Environment Directorate in early 2026. The functions of the position and team are likely to remain consistent.
