EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.

**About the Opportunity**

Our EnergyCo Technical Services team is currently seeking a Technical Policy and Project Officer to support NSW’s five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), and meet the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 objectives.

The Technical Policy and Project Officer coordinates projects and provides administrative support to the development and delivery of NSW Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) and Priority Transmission Infrastructure Projects (PTIP).

The role will assist in undertaking detailed research and data analytics to support the development of strategic policy and legislative advice that will inform decision-making relating to the work of the Energy Corporation of NSW.

**About You**

To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated experience in project and/or policy management in the context of contemporary government policies and community attitudes.

Your experience in delivering a range of project management and support services includes having good time management skills, including the ability to balance urgent requests and ongoing work of the unit with tight deadlines, limited resources and the need to manage competing priorities.

You are self motivated and have experience using technical tools and resources such as Microsoft Excel to undertake research, analyse and evaluate information, and develop strategy and policy proposals under pressure and against competing and short deadlines.

As a confident communicator with interpersonal skills, you will experience in supporting consultations and negotiating with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.

**Who we are**

EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of more than 14 gigawatts of new transmission capacity, coordinated with renewable energy and storage, including in five new REZs and two priority transmission infrastructure projects.

We are responsible for the on-ground infrastructure needed to bring new renewable energy online at the scale and speed to meet our transformation objectives in the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 and NSW Network Infrastructure Strategy.

In January 2024, EnergyCo joined the newly formed NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) which works to protect the state’s environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.

We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
