**Position Information**:
Corrimal Public School is in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, situated between the mountains and the ocean on the traditional lands of the Wodi Wodi people of the Five Islands Dreaming. There are 227 students across 9 classes, 9% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and 12% are from an EALD background. The school prides itself on knowing each individual student, allowing them to learn, grow and belong.
The school embodies the power of public education, providing opportunities for all and transforming lives through learning. Students are supported to develop a strong sense of self and social skills through a multitude of programs. Outside of the classroom, every child is able to pursue their strengths through sporting, dancing and leadership programs, gardening experiences, high quality technology and creative arts experiences as well as HPGE education.
Staff are driven by current, evidence-based pedagogies to ensure children are supported and extended to achieve growth in their learning. There is also a significant focus on staff-wellbeing.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated capacity to co-develop a shared vision and promote the school in the wider community to drive student enrolment, engagement and attendance.
- A collaborative, visible, and approachable leader who promotes learning and continuous improvement, while cultivating a culture of respect and open communication with students, staff, parents, carers, and the broader community.
- Proven instructional leader with the demonstrated capacity to embed a culture of high expectations and student engagement through targeted professional learning for all stakeholders.
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement and embed the department's equity and high potential and gifted education policies and programs to enhance quality outcomes for all students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
