**Position Information**:
Kangaroo Valley Public School is a small school striving for excellence, providing a quality education in a nurturing, community-focused environment. It is situated in a picturesque small rural village in the Shoalhaven surrounded by farms and lush bushland, two hours south of Sydney and 20 kilometres west of Bomaderry NSW.
The school is an integral part of the village and draws students directly from the Kangaroo Valley area. The school currently has 85 students. Our school staff are passionate and committed to continually improving their practice and supporting all students throughout their time at Kangaroo Valley Public School, creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment. The school has maintained four classes for the last 10 years.
Our school supports students to strive for excellence in academic, sporting, community, and cultural endeavours. Our staff and students have access to a range technology resources to enhance learning. The school can provide inclusive educational practices across K-6 to support all our students.
Our school has valuable and established partnerships with the community and the Shoalhaven Small Schools Network. Our Northern Shoalhaven Community of Schools effectively collaborate to enhance teaching, learning and leadership in all schools.
The parents and carers of Kangaroo Valley Public School are active participants with an effective P&C that not only raises significant funds to assist with school resources but has a valued voice within the school. There is significant community involvement through local initiatives and partnerships with businesses and organisations.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and proven capacity in building collaborative partnerships with parents, the wider school community, and the local network of schools to support improved outcomes for students and staff.
- Ability to promote and celebrate the achievements of students and the school, enhancing the school’s profile and reputation within the wider community. This includes managing the resources available to the school.
- Visible, approachable leadership to promote high expectations and continuous school improvement through exemplary planning processes to deliver equitable outcomes through the school excellence plan.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and resilient in the dual role of principal and exemplary classroom teacher, leading staff in the design and implementation of programs and initiatives that cater for all students, including those with complex needs.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
